Proof Positive is a competency-based assessment platform designed to streamline and manage qualifications that rely on demonstrated skills and evidence, rather than just exams or seat time.

Developed and owned by Metadeck, Proof Positive supports a wide range of qualifications and training schemes, including:

  • Vocational Qualifications
  • Apprenticeships and Modern Apprenticeships
  • Professional Development Awards
  • Further and Higher Education Certifications
  • Custom in-house or industry-specific learning programmes

The platform is used by education providers, local councils, healthcare organisations, private companies, and charities across the UK. It provides secure, intuitive access for learners, assessors, verifiers and admins to collaborate and track progress in real time.

Recent Updates & Improvements

As part of a long-term system upgrade, we’re rebuilding and refining the platform page by page, guided by years of real user feedback:

1. Smart Portfolio List Views

  • New index views for portfolios with advanced filtering and sorting
  • Filter by “at-risk” status, candidate progress %, or expected dates
  • Full-text search across names, programmes, and candidate IDs
  • Bulk list actions: export filtered lists to CSV or send mass messages to all portfolio candidates

2. Revamped Messaging Interface

  • Transitioned from a basic CRUD model to an inbox-style layout
  • Inspired by Gmail/Outlook with side-panel message previews and no page reloads
  • Result: faster communication, more user-friendly experience

3. My Drive File Management

  • Every user now gets a personal drive to upload, organise, and store files
  • Users can create folders, upload CVs/certificates, and soon link files directly when submitting evidence
  • Planned sharing tools will allow users (e.g. assessors) to securely share files with admins without leaving the platform

A Platform That’s Always Evolving

One of our proudest achievements is the step-by-step platform upgrade currently underway. We’re re-evaluating each section as we go, simplifying user journeys, adding micro-UX improvements, and reducing friction across the board.

We’re also midway through a full rebuild of the evidence submission process, the most used feature in the platform. This work is deeply informed by customer feedback, and we believe it will raise the bar for usability across the entire ePortfolio category.
