Project Overview
MyEco is a forward-thinking mobile app designed to encourage better recycling habits by making the process more accessible, engaging, and even rewarding. Developed for our long-term customer inico DIGITAL, the app is targeted at councils and the communities they serve – helping to educate users on proper recycling through interactive features and real-time object recognition.
Built with user engagement at its core, MyEco combines gamification, e-learning, and computer vision AI to give users immediate, accurate answers about how to dispose of household items – and rewards them for making the right choices.
The Challenge
inico DIGITAL needed:

- AI Image Recognition: Real-time object detection with blended logic from a custom material database and AI model, giving accurate recycling advice down to composite item parts.
- Gamified Scoring System: Users earn points for recycling and completing e-learning modules, which can be redeemed for vouchers from local businesses.
- Voucher Management: Councils and partners can add voucher campaigns for high-scoring users.
- Multi-Tenant Admin Panel: Allows councils to manage local users and track engagement.
